Good evening Riley Families:

I know many of you are getting ready and are excited about the start of the school year.  Unfortunately, we are going to have to make a calendar adjustment at the start of this year.  As you know, we have had a major HVAC and fire alarm project going on here at school.  Like in many other areas of commerce, there have been some delays in getting product and equipment here.  Luckily everything is here and they are working to finish installing everything needed to get our building up and running.  Unfortunately some of these delays have created a situation where the systems cannot be run and checked in time for us to open on our original start date of August 26th.  We are going to have to move our starting date forward three days to August 31st.  This will allow us to ensure we have the air conditioning in working order and the fire alarm system fully functional.  Safety has to be the guiding factor here.  I know this may be an inconvenience for some of you, but unfortunately this is a situation out of our control.  We will be ready to accept students as soon as it is safe to do so.

We will be sending out some information soon about material pick up for students in remote learning as well as information regarding open house.  We will not be able to have an in person open house so teachers will be creating messages for parents and students to view prior to the start of school.  Students will bring their materials with them on the first day.

I want to end this message on a personal note.  I would like to thank all of the families that have shown such overwhelming support for what we are trying to do here at Riley.  Without your support these things would not be possible.  It is a privilege to work in such an amazing community that supports the school the way you do.  Thank you, again and be safe and well!
